Courses on medicinal plants and wild herbs

If you come to us you can choose to experience nature firsthand.

For a day or even an entire weekend.

Our courses are hands-on experiences in the fields, where you can discover the secrets of medicinal plants and wild herbs, and visit our green building laboratory, where we rigorously transform what we harvest by hand, following ancient herbal practices.

Want to recognize plants? Know how to use them in cooking, making herbal teas, syrups, or natural cosmetics?

Here at the farm, you'll find training days designed to help you experience nature as we do: up close, with care and respect.

Corso Piante Officinali alle Germandine di Suvereto

Medicinal plants course

A day entirely dedicated to the world of medicinal plants, dedicated to those who want to go beyond theory and learn on the field, literally 🙂

The morning is dedicated to a walk in the fields and takes place in these phases:

  • botanical recognition of spontaneous and cultivated medicinal plants;
  • indications on cultivation, harvesting and balsamic times;
  • Introduction to phytotherapy and the main properties of the species treated.

After a vegetarian lunch featuring organic and local products, we move to our green building laboratory for the practical part:

  • examples of transformation (mother tinctures, herbal teas, extracts);
  • notes on pharmaceutical botany;
  • explanation of the different extraction methods and their daily use.

The medicinal plants course is ideal if you want to gain a solid foundation, if you already work in the natural wellness sector, or if you're simply curious and want an immersive experience.

Rose Day

Rose Day is our most fragrant course, dedicated to Rosa gallica officinalis, an ancient variety with an intense fragrance and unmistakable color.

During the day:

  • we collect the petals in the fields, at the moment of maximum flowering;
  • we tell the history, traditional uses and properties of the rose in phytotherapy and in the kitchen;
  • Let's prepare rose syrup and see how to make herbal teas, hydrolates and oleolites from it.

By the end of the day, you'll have created your own rose syrup. Something personal, something you can take home and share with your loved ones.

Giornata delle rose alle Germandine di Suvereto

Wild herbs course

The wild herbs course invites you to look at the fields with different eyes. You'll shop directly in nature!

During the morning we go out together in the fields around the farm to:

  • learn to recognize the main edible wild herbs;
  • distinguish the most common species from those to be avoided;
  • discover how to combine them in the kitchen with aromatic plants.

Following this, the organic and zero-mile lunch is entirely dedicated to the collected herbs: a seasonal menu that demonstrates how healthy and tasty these plants can be.

In the afternoon, we'll analyze the recipes, how to use them, and the precautions needed to incorporate them into a balanced daily diet.

This is the perfect course if you love cooking and feel the need to make your shopping more sustainable.

Just like our grandmothers used to do: let's go to the fields and see what's on the menu today!

Degustazione liquori e sciroppi alle Germandine di Suvereto

Visit our laboratory

Each course includes a visit to the company's laboratory, built of wood and straw and authorized by the Ministry of Health for the production of supplements, extracts, syrups, liqueurs, infusions, and gemmoderivatives.

What happens during the lab visit:

  • we talk about the methods of transformation of medicinal plants;
  • we explain how we work in compliance with standards and quality;
  • We show the different stages of the process, from the fresh vegetable to the finished product.

And of course, we'll conclude our visit with a guided tasting of our liqueurs, syrups, and infusions, to sample the products that grow here, from seed to bottle.

Tailor-made labs and courses

In addition to our annual calendar, we also design courses for small groups, themed days for schools, associations, and work groups, and personalized experiences for those who wish to delve deeper into a specific topic (natural cuisine, botanical cosmetics, wild agriculture).

We create custom gift vouchers and experiences if you want to give the gift of a course or stay at Le Germandine: an original idea for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, or simply to care for someone with a significant experience.

For information, special requests, or to organize your course, you can send us an email, message, or call us directly.
